Here is a sunrise shot making way up the Columbia to one of our favorite Steelhead spots. You can see Mt. St. Helens in the background. Also a shot of “Slough Coot” back in the water after building her a new bowsprit and Bobstay! She will get her new mainsail in mid August.
Today I added the third coat of paint on both the bowsprit and gaff. Tomorrow I’ll install the bowsprit anchor mounts, hang the anchor and, if all goes well, put her back in the water.
Slough Coot is back in the yard. The previous owner fit the Cape Henry 21 with a bowsprit 32″ long when the plans show 4 feet. He also built the gaff at 9 feet, when the plans show 12′-4″. I have had a new mainsail made and it should be fit to the boat on…
